Carryl Navalta, Ph.D.

Carryl P. Navalta, Ph.D. is a Massachusetts-licensed clinical psychologist and certified health service provider.  Dr. Navalta received his bachelor of science in psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his master's degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY).  His pre-doctoral internship was at the South Shore Mental Health Center in Quincy, MA and he received post-doctoral training in the Psychology Department at UCLA and the Child Outpatient Program at McLean Hospital.  He was formerly on staff at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute & Hospital, Institute for Child Development (SUNY), May Institute, and Tufts-New England Medical Center.  Currently, Dr. Navalta is on the clinical and research staff at McLean and Cambridge Hospitals and has a faculty appointment as Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

SERVICES PROVIDED
Dr. Navalta provides behavior therapy for children, adolescents, and adults as well as parent training and guidance in positive behavioral support.  His specialties include: attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); autism and other pervasive developmental disorders; mood disorders (unipolar and bipolar depression); and fear/anxiety disorders. Dr. Navalta also provides consultation to school and other institutions.

INSURANCE NETWORKS
Dr. Navalta participates in the Harvard Pilgrim (Pacificare/UBH), United Behavioral Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield networks.   Although he does not participate with Tufts Health Plan their PPO plan does cover our services and we will bill THP directly for patients with the PPO plan.  THP HMO members must make payment at the time of service. CIGNA and other network plans cover his services on an out of network basis.
